OVERVIEW:

KPMG in Jamaica provides office extension support services in the Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS) Operations to KPMG in the US and is seeking to hire suitably qualified, competent, highly motivated, Junior Officer, for the growing Time & Expense (T&E) Compliance team.

The Clients’ T&E process area performs tasks related to review of Time and Expense claims submitted by the Client’s employees and Partners for compliance. Additional requirements include preparing and delivering reports, analytics, and quality assurance. 

The office extension shared service is based in Kingston and the team members execute their duties using online resources and tools to support KPMG US’s back-office operations.

JOB SUMMARY:

The JESS T&E Compliance Junior Officer will be responsible for performing various tasks within the Clients’ T&E compliance process area. Particularly, this role will ensure the teams’ adherence to standard operating procedures is on time and of expected quality.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Audit and evaluate complex, higher volume expense submissions from Client partners and employees.
  • Identify transactional errors, discrepancies, large and/or unusual transactions
  • Audit airline refunds, and communicate with the Team Lead to resolve potential credits due to the firm
  • Meets deadlines as required
  • Gain advanced knowledge of the Clients’ time and expense policies and financial applications
  • Identify problems with processes, technology, and/or procedures, and suggest improvements
  • May train less experienced staff, as directed
  • Assist in the review of Amount Due Firms to determine if they can be reclaimed or if the employee/Partner needs to repay the firm. May communicate with KPMG employees regarding these balances.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES:

 

 Education/Experience

  • Associate Degree required in accounting, or related discipline
  • Litter to no experience required
  • Detail oriented, analytical and critical thinking skills
