Data Analyst - Supply Chain

The data analyst -supply chain will review data to identify key insights into a business's customers and ways the data can be used to solve problems.

POSITION PROFILE

The Data Analyst - Supply Chain is responsible for building businesses, leveraging data and identifing opportunities for improvement, spot trends, as well as recognizing potential issues and offering solutions. Their work is aimed towards improving efficiency, increasing productivity, and driving profits for the business.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

• Designing and maintaining data systems and databases; this includes fixing errors and other data-related problems.
• Cleaning &mining data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing said data in a format that can easily be used for future use.
• Using statistical tools to interpret data sets, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostic and predictive analytics efforts
• Preparing reports for management that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
• Collaborating with programmers, engineers, and organizational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvements, recommend system modifications, and develop policies for data governance.
• Creating appropriate documentation that allows stakeholders to understand the steps of the data analysis process and duplicate or replicate the analysis if necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• BSc or higher in Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Engineering
• Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst (3 years min)
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
• Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
• Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
• Understanding of addressing and metadata standards.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Standard Query Language (SQL)& Machine learning (Python) would be considered an asset
