Risk Officer

Job Summary

You will be responsible for assisting with the execution of J.E.T.S. Enterprise-wide Risk Management Framework, performing all the duties outlined below in accordance with the Risk Steering Committee Charter and the Enterprise Risk Management Policy. The role requires exposure to technological systems, data management, banking and general business processes, finance and accounts and human resources.

 

Your key responsibilities include.

Responsible for conducting risk-based reviews, including risk identification, assessment, measurement and reviewing risk response, monitoring, and validating risk management activities.

  1. Conduct risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation based on J.E.T.S. Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  2. Prepare enterprise-wide risk management reports, including comprehensive commentary on risk events, responses and patterns or fluctuations observed, ensuring reasonability.  
  3. Monitor and evaluate trends for the various Key Risk Indicators inclusive of Incident Logs. Determine elevations in risk and proactively monitor the implementation of risk response measures, as well as determine whether current drivers and indicators are effective.
  4. Provide comprehensive risk heat maps and quantitative risk reporting information to executive management.
  5. Monitor the closure of gaps identified by internal audit reports.

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in risk management, management information systems, information security, finance, accounting, or a related quantitative and detailed field
  • Relevant professional designation in Risk Management or internal audit.
  • At least two years of work experience in risk management or information risk management.
  • Conversant with COSO Enterprise Risk Management framework
  • Certification in IT Risk and ITIL 4 would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of banking operations would be asset.

 

Mandatory Skill Sets Required:

  • Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgement in anticipating and assessing risk exposures.
  • Strong team oriented inter-personal skills and collaborative aptitudes.  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with database and business intelligence applications
