Chief Executive Officer (Children's Authority)

Our Client, The Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (The Authority), is currently seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Reporting to the Chairman and Board of Management, the ideal candidate will be a dynamic executive who is passionate about child welfare, childcare advocacy and protection. The CEO will provide successful leadership and overall administration and management of The Authority in accordance with its strategic direction. He/She will have oversight of all clinical programmes and administrative operations, including human resources, finance, fund raising, public education, and communications.  

The CEO will establish and implement long range goals, plans, policies, and systems, including metrics and performance indicators, to effectively achieve the mandate and mission of The Authority. He/She will develop the annual operating budget and ensure that proper fiscal policies and procedures and risk management guidelines are in place. The CEO will further ensure that The Authority’s operations are in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. The CEO will work closely with a variety of stakeholders in the field of child protection and in particular, community organisations and other governmental agencies.

Candidates must demonstrate experience in motivating and directing teams in a care service environment to meet quality and performance objectives. Candidates must have a strong track record in networking and collaborating with stakeholders. Additionally candidates must be articulate and effective communicators.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration Management, Law, Social Sciences, Finance, or another related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution. Experience or formal training in project management and/or strategic planning would be an asset. Applicants should possess at least twelve (12) years’ experience at a senior management level. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
