About The Role

The Senior Financial Advisor and Analyst (SFA) leads the Firms Advisory and Investment Team. As such the SFA is responsible for the execution of the Firm’s engagements to raise funds for corporations and government agencies by structuring the issuance of securities such as stocks, bonds, and derivative investments namely futures, options, and swaps. In conjunction with the Managing Director, Investment Services & Operations, the SFA will not only advise clients who are planning mergers, acquisitions, but also assist with the restructuring and building of the franchise, the brand, and the capabilities of the Advisory and Investment Services.

Qualifications 

Required

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Business, or related field of study
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience working in investment banking, securities industry, financial advisory services, corporate financing or related field

 

Desired

  • A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or other relevant designation or demonstrated interest in pursuing and completing the required examinations
  • Financial modeling expertise and ability to develop forecasting tools to automate financial data analysis
  • Involved in financial services and the development of the capital market in the CARICOM Region and/or Belize
  • Exhibited outstanding achievements in the international or regional financial markets
  • Involvement in community service clubs, other charitable organizations or community initiatives

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present recommendations for Client’s consideration for mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, asset allocation and portfolio implementation
  • Originate and pitch private investment opportunities and work on various projects to support client relations
  • Assist Clients with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies for investing
  • Analyze financial information and produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions
  • Evaluate and compare the relative or intrinsic value of various securities in a given industry
  • Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments and provide individual corporation research and industry research on general economic trends, prepare and present oral and written reports to management
  • Prepare and recommend plans of action for investment based on financial analyses
  • Review data in the firm’s database and reconcile computations
  • In coordination with the Managing Director, provides leadership and management to the Unit recruit and develop the Firm’s talent in the Unit
  • Develop and constantly improve the Firm’s policies and procedures for the investment services
  • Prepare reports and projections based on analysis that enable management team to make strategic decisions to meet business goals
  • Coordinate with members of the finance team to review financial information and forecast and other day-to-day responsibilities

  • Knowledge of regional financial systems and institutions, economies, tax laws, and money and securities markets
  • Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
  • Sound understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Knowledge of procedural controls and data validation techniques
  • Exceptional quantitative abilities combined with the ability to conduct research to resolve complex problems
  • Knowledgeable of relevant financial and data analysis tools/software’s
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and working with large data sets

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills particularly for analysis presentations

Work Environment

The work characteristics described here are representative of those that the SFA will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Approximately 40% of work will be conducted in office at the Job Location. Approximately 60% of work will be conducted outside of the office visiting clients, participating in meeting, conducting research, attending trainings, seminars etc. Extensive local and regional travel will be required.
