CUTTING ROOM SUPERVISOR
Job Summary:
The Cutting Room Supervisor is responsible to ensure that all activities relating to the department including: cutting, trimming and the storage of meat products are maintained. Product quality standards are being met whilst processing and quality produce are delivered to the customer.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure frozen meats are cut to company specification.
- Ensure that different meat cut is completely removed from cutting area before start another meat cut (prevention of cross contamination)
- Supervising daily activities to meet operational objectives and daily demands
- Maintaining freshness and quality of meat as per food safety standards
- Reporting stock levels of all items and maintaining inventory
- Any other duties assigned to execute the above
Qualifications and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic literacy and computation skills
- 2-5 yrs. Supervisory experience would be an asset
- 2-5 yrs. Food Processing/ Butchering Experience would be an asset
Skills Required:
- Ability to operate cutting tools( knives, saws, etc) and equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well in teams
- Being attentive to tasks to avoid injury and waste of product
Special Requirements:
- Food Handler’s Permit
Special Conditions:
- This job will require frequent moving, lifting and handling of frozen items
