Human Resource Officer

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing human resource strategic initiatives and provide administrative support to promote a healthy work environment across the Group.

 

Duties / Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Group Human Resource and Development Manager.

  • Assist with the development, documentation, planning, direction and execution of human resource programmes, policies and practices including: employee recruitment and selection, discipline, grievance, counselling, employment contracts, remuneration and employment terms, learning, training and development, succession planning, morale and motivation, culture, employee relations, performance management, quality management issues and internal controls;
  • Monitor, measure and report on human resource metrics and issues, opportunity and development plans and achievements within agreed format and timeframe;
  • Effectively collaborate with all other departments to promote alignment in supporting the success of Group’s strategic plans;
  • Assist with the preparation of Human Resources Department reports on key activities and outcomes;
  • Keep abreast industry trends to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Group;

 

Minimum Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • Two (2) years of related work experience;
  • Professional certification in human resources would be an asset;
  • Knowledge of human resource management and development, Labour Relations and Industrial Dispute Act, Pensions and National Insurance provisions, and any related recent amendments;
  • Good interpersonal, counselling, team building, employee evaluation, judgement and time management skills;
  • Strong ethics, confidentiality and reliability;
  • Detail oriented and highly accurate;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with clear customer service orientation;
  • Competence in MS Office suite.
