Blender & Mixer

SUMMARY

The Blender and Mixer Technician plans, controls and executes the delivery of daily blend requirements for production through scheduling, ordering and manufacturing of materials with adherence to the quality specification requirements. Maintains blending formulation and product transfer equipment sanitation requirements to ensure compliance with quality and sanitization standards.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate blending activities and resources in accordance with production schedules.
  • Maintain adequate supply of raw materials to meet schedule
  • Ensure equipment is properly calibrates and maintained.
  • Perform sanitation duties on blending equipment as needed.
  • Implement and control blending schedules and review and adjust as required
  • Ensure samples are analyzed by the lab and enforce any corrective actions required.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols as well as GMP standards are adhered to
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures for blending
  • Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks
  • Monitor quality standards of products
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process and cost control programs
  • Investigate and implement system enhancement initiatives
  • Ensure strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required
  • Defines opportunities for efficiencies with equipment utilization, planning, personnel and implement improvements effectively to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Supervise team members activities to ensure department objectives are met.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • An Undergraduate Degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum four (4) years’ relevant industry experience
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of quality systems, standards and process improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
  • Strong IT systems knowledge
  • Experience in delivering results in a team environment
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques will be an asset
