The Content Writer researches, writes, edits, proofs, and formats content for myexcellentstores.com and affiliated websites. With the main focus being on product descriptions (appropriate specifications, style, etc.), other content includes compelling sales and marketing material.

 If this sounds like you then Excellent Stores Limited is looking for a Content Writer.  As a key member of the Marketing & Ecommerce team, the Content Writer will research, write, edit, proof, and format content for myexcellentstores.com and affiliated websites. Ultimately, you will deliver quality writing pieces with the main focus being on product descriptions, as well as compelling sales and marketing material that appeal to our audiences, attract customers and boost brand awareness. As our Content Writer, you will collaborate with teams across the organization and be responsible for the upkeep of content and creative assets on the website, ensuring content is engaging and accurate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The main areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Write quality online product descriptions to help the customer make a purchasing decision. Descriptions should be written in a (high-end catalog style) format, including shopping guides, size charts and other product-specific copy, brand, trend, and gift descriptions, as well as feature editorial and promotional copy.
• Maintain the online product database and ensure information is accurate and appealing.
• Upload new products, ensuring deadlines are met by completing daily uploads target and ensuring product specifications are accurate.
• Continually update products and related information, publish content, and manage day-to-day tasks that are required to keep website 100% up to date.
• Work with the Manager and Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Specialist on the day-to-day management of the online store, ensuring website is kept up to date with seasonally relevant products, updated imagery, new products, and regularly updated category pages.
• Proactively request from key stakeholders any additional information that might be required to keep website updated.
• Liaise closely with the Manager on the visual merchandising of the site, assisting with content, information, functionality, and experience on the website.
• Liaise with the   to obtain images as needed.
• Apply Search Engine Optimization principles to all generated content.  Publish content to inventory system.
• Assist with coordinating and supporting all Company events such as product launches, and any other promotional events.
  • Provide customer support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone, and other electronic medium.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/Experience:

• Degree or Associates Degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Creative Writing, Business Management, or related field. 
• Five CXC Subjects including Mathematics and English.
• A qualification in content writing will be an asset.
• Previous experience using an inventory system is highly preferred. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
