The Fixed Term Employee shall be responsible for usual and customary functions, tasks, and duties of a “Production Team Member” including but not limited to the following:
The Production Team Member reports directly to the Production Supervisor. A Production Team Member is responsible for assist with all spheres of the production of the company’s baked goods.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of a variety of bakery and confectionery goods for retail and wholesale customers.
- Complete the check list of jobs to be done on a daily basis and to assist with planning and scheduling of tasks.
- Assist with wrapping, slicing, labelling, dating and packing products for delivery (where and when necessary).
- Production Associates must measure their batters into the appropriate pans/containers (using a scale or scoops of a known size) to ensure consistency and portion control.
- Ensure that ingredients are ready for use each day.
- Mix and bake ingredients according to recipes
- Produce the correct quantity of product according to recipes
- Follow daily instructions for production schedules and recipes
- Move racks, scrape baking sheets and rims and ensure pans are in place for product to be deposited (prepare equipment for baking).
- Perform various assigned manual labour tasks to; grasp, lift, move place, and stack items relating to the production processes assigned.
- Identify, count and visually inspect bakery Items
- Maintain workflow during production timelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in accordance with “Good Manufacturing Practices”, company policies, processes and procedures to produce consistent products.
- Promote safety in the work area by understanding and complying with safety procedures and reporting all accidents in timely manner.
- Assist with sweeping, mopping and washing work area/s
- To co-operate with colleagues.
- To carry out any ad hoc duties.
- To adhere to health and safety policy and observe hygiene regulations.
- And or any professional duties assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High School Certification / Regional Passes (Food & Nutrition)
- Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred
- Food Handler’s Permit
- Certification / Diploma in Food and Nutrition or Food Management
- Strong communication skills, work focused attitude and desire to work with other team members
Working Hours:
At present the company operates a five (5) days work week, your position requires you to be present and complete a work week according to the needs of the business; you may be required to work on Weekends or be on call to deal with urgent matters arising. Additionally, extended hours may be required for example: to meet deadlines and targets.
