The incumbent is required to manage the inventory at Freeport and specific retails addressing variances, spoilage, discrepancies and preparing reports to management in an efficient manner.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE

 

  1. Monitor the receival and distribution of inventory ensuring data is accurately logged into Inventory system – VAI/S2K.
  2. Monitor transfer of products to and from the Warehouse and Production.
  3. Monitor inventory balance on a daily basis ensuring goods and raw goods are  adequately stocked.  Liaise with other DC Inventory Manager to request transfers.
  4. Manage the Bonded Warehouse for entry and exit of goods; keeping proper documentation as per required by Jamaica Customs agency.
  5. Manage the monthly inventory stock taking exercise. Investigate variances and take corrective actions.
  6. Liaise with Production to ensure proper records for processing material and finished products are maintained. Verify accuracy of daily report of production yield.
  7. Monitor the transfer of inventory to Retails and conduct inventory checks at facilities; and write off spoilage.
  8. Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete or redundant raw materials and products to maximize availability of working capital.
  9. Provide weekly management report on inventory movement.
  10. Supervise subordinate to include regular performance evaluation, training, mentoring and coaching to keep staff motivated and committed.
  11. Adhere to all Company Policies and procedures as well as safety, security, and motor vehicle policy and procedures.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’s)

The job is performed satisfactorily when the following are achieved:

Inventory:   Accurate records are maintained; adequate stock levels are maintained with no compromise to production.

Accountability:  Bonded Warehouse – products within are not compromised and properly rotated.

Policies:      Evidence of adherence to policies and procedures.

Accuracy:   Achievement of a minimum of 99.5% accuracy in inventory/stock taking.

Teamwork:  Evidence of collaboration, information sharing and communication with the other departments.

Time Management: Efficiency displayed in executing tasks.

Honesty/Integrity:  Evidence of strong business ethics.

Human Resource:  Staff remains motivated, performance appraisal is done; training is facilitated.
