Yard Supervisor to work Suriname for a period of one to two years on a 28 days on, 28 days off, 12 hours per day rotational schedule. The ideal candidate must have supervisory experience working in a pipe-yard environment in the logistics industry.

We are recruiting for a Yard Supervisor to work Suriname for a period of one to two years on a 28 days on, 28 days off, 12 hours per day rotational schedule. The ideal candidate must have supervisory experience working in a pipe-yard environment in the logistics industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all resources ( crane operators, pipe handler operators, forklift operators, riggers, banksman ) to ensure all pipe yard activities are completed safely in accordance with pre-agreed plans and schedules.
  • Inspect all cargo / pipes / slings for damage, overloading, relevant documentation, certification and compliance to Company's standards, prior to dispatch.
  • Inspect all cargo delivered to the pipe yard, and ensure they are in accordance with Industry Best Practice Safe Packing and Handling of Cargo to and from Offshore Locations.
  • Check cargo against cargo DN/load list to ensure all cargo complies with client shipping instructions.
  • Accurately record all discrepancies and raise non-conformance measures and Company's SIDs & AIRs as required.
  • Ensure you are in full compliance with all Group HSEQ and Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure the receipt and dispatch of all material conforms to Company and client requirements for safe shipment, traceability and accountability
  • Manage the Control of Work process as necessary, to ensure safe and secure work is performed by all Operations, Contractor and Third Party personnel at your assign location.
  • Accurate completion of all reports, statistics and other documentation as may be required (SBRF's, Activity reports and all other reports that will be required from time to time).
  • Ensure all PTW's are closed out in alignment with the respective GOP.
  • Create lift plans in alignment with Company's GLP.
  • Organizing the stacking of items and tubular according to COMPANY standards upon delivery and preparing casing bundles early enough to allow smooth operations.
  • Supervising lifting and handling operations complying with COMPANY HSE standards at the yard.
  • Managing the slings and lifting devices in order to run continuous operations safely (including certification checks).
  • Managing the CCUs in order to always utilize carrying units in good conditions, well identified, bearing the proper color coding and the up-to-date certification.
  • Managing the lifting/handling Equipment availability for a smooth performance of the services.
  • Ensuring the accurate CCUs traceability during the whole duration of operations.
  • Organizing the team and shifts for safe, efficient and optimized operations at yard.
  • Communicating immediately unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to the Deputy Base Manager and Base Manager accordingly.
  • Practice of proper forklift and yard vehicle operation and preventive maintenance
  • Maintaining yard housekeeping, organization and layout
  • Organizing daily loading sequence and Assurance of maximized payloads
  • Maximization of labor efficiency to minimize overtime.
  • This role profile is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities. You will be required to perform other related duties as required and assigned.


Details / Requirements:

  • Duration: intended to be 1 -2 years but an initial 3 month contract will be issued in the first instance as the project kicks off
  • Rotational schedule: 28 days on / 28 days off - 12 hours per day
  • Must possess the yellow fever vaccine and International Vaccine card
  • Position will not come with vacation days due to rotational schedule
  • A holder of a Valid Passport


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in a Pipe-yard setting in the Logistics Industry
  • At least 3 years supervising contractors on site and ensuring best practice is followed
  • Knowledge of Best Practices within the Logistics Industry preferably related to offshore Oil & Gas support
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work unsupervised and make effective decisions in a fast-changing environment


HSEQ

  • In partnership with the HSE department, ensure the continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance and compliance to all laws, regulations and industry standards/codes.
  • Reports all incidents or breaches of policy or regulations to the line manager.
  • Fully endorse the Company's ‘Stop the Job’ policy and commitment to proactive intervention where an unsafe act or condition is observed.
  • Adherence to the Company's integrated management system ensuring document control and improvements to key processes is maintained.
Salary:
Monthly: TTD $16,200 (includes uplift as an incentive for deployment to Suriname)
Per Diem: Approximately USD$50.00 / day paid in TTD equivalent only when on rotation In Suriname (estimated to be every other 28 days)
