Assistant Manager Procurement

ARC MANUFACTURING LIMITED, a leading manufacturer and distributor of building materials in Jamaica and the region, seeks to identify a suitable professional to fill the position of ASSISTANT MANAGER OF PROCUREMENT

JOB SCOPE include:

• Create and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers;
• Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous terms;
• Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies;
• Control spend and support a culture of cost savings associated with procurement;
• Execute risk management strategies related to supply contracts;
• Support procurement compliance and supplier management;
• Formulate and execute effective procurement strategies;
• Liaise with various departments to ensure that goods are received and supplied as agreed;
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure that supplies are adequate;
• Finalize purchase details of orders;
• Conducts product research and related activities to support the company’s business development portfolio.

PROFILE OF CANDIDATE:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, or an equivalent discipline.
• Proven working experience in a similar position.
• Very good knowledge of the procurement process and supplier management.
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks would be an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
