PRINTING PRESS OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY

This team member is responsible for production of printing jobs through effective and efficient operation of the organization’s printing machines. This position requires an enthusiastic, hardworking and dependable individual.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but not limited to

• Effective and efficient operation of printing machines and ancillary equipment to ensure quality products.
• Preplanning of jobs to ensure all raw materials are in place two (2) days prior to start of job.
• Preplanning of the job to ensure accuracy of printed product.
• Frontline maintenance of equipment to ensure equipment longevity.
• Supporting external maintenance technicians during equipment repair/servicing.
• Daily recording of activities
• Housekeeping activities to ensure a tidy and safe worksite
• Provision of support to, but not limited to, assembly line staff to ensure timely completion and delivery of products to the customer.
• Other duties related to the operation of the business as assigned by your supervisor.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS

• Minimum of Two (2) CXC/CSEC O’ Level passes including Mathematics and English
• Prior experience in the offset printing and packaging industry is an asset but not a requirement
• Prior experience on offset printing press machines from one (1) colour to four (4) colour is an asset but not a requirement
• Prior experience on pre-press CTP operations is an asset but not a requirement
