POSITION SUMMARY

NICE GLOBAL is seeking a Global Credit Analyst who will support Credit Risk Policies and Procedures for clients across multiple industries and regions. Credit Risk Analyst is responsible for the completion of Credit investigations using third party sources of credit information as well as financial statement analysis to make credit limit recommendations for new and existing customers where our credit exposure will exceed the default Credit Limit.

Assignment of accounts to third party collection agencies, monthly status reconciliation and analysis of their collection performance.

Produces monthly and ad hoc reporting as assigned using system reporting tools and EXCEL.

Works with a limited degree of supervision. May act as a resource for more junior colleagues, or those with less work experience.

This role has responsibility for multiple global regions. The role reports directly to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk Management & Performance Reporting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Credit Analysis:

  • Provide preliminary analysis of data, financial statements, or reference information in Accounts Receivable system workflow.
  • Calculate key credit ratios for analysis
  • Assist in Credit & Collection processes associated with Company/Product acquisitions including credit review and establishment of appropriate credit limits and user acceptance testing where appropriate.
  • Review new account credit application to determine if ordering requirements warrant additional credit default.
  • Perform business verification for those accounts requiring a credit line exceeding credit default.
  • Correspond with bank officers and trade references for credit information on new accounts.
  • Determine credit worthiness of new accounts, maintain consistent standard for information gathered and way it is retained.
  • Initial credit analysis and trending for risk assessment.
  • Ensure that acquired accounts are integrated into Accounts Receivable in conformance with established standards.
  • Provide consistent treatment of credit applications received.  Ensure Credit Department prepares and reviews account for appropriate credit line contributing to smooth order flow of future orders.
  • Protect company from fraudulent activities.
  • Obtain necessary data to make sound credit decision.

 Collection Agency/Reconciliation:

 

  •  Assist with management of final demand process and small balance collection activities prior to collection agency placement.
  • Coordinate with Credit & Collection Manager and Team Lead to ensure that exhausted accounts are moved through final demand to collection agency placement in a timely manner.
  • Minimize bad debt exposure where possible by providing timely filing of all claim forms, cancellation of pending orders prior to fulfilment and supporting analysis to minimize preference payment repayment.
  • Correspond with various collection agencies and reconcile agency’s monthly status reports. Make recommendations to Management when legal action is suggested by collection agency.
  •  Prepare and file bankruptcy claim forms with Federal Courts and track status of cases.  Perform preference payment analysis when necessary.
  • Obtain necessary approvals for bad debt write-offs and update Accounts Receivable system to appropriately reflect status.
  • Provide two-way communication with agencies; obtain agreement on status and balances to ensure optimum recovery to the corporation.
  • Compliance with corporate bad debt policy; ensure new business for accounts placed for collection are transacted appropriately with appropriate security.

 Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 2-years Financial or Credit Analyst experience
  • Strong understanding of Credit Policy and procedures; proactively refers to resources as needed (D&B and other credit information provider reports, etc.)
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to research internet thoroughly and accurately for supporting customer information through public and government websites.
  • Knowledge of Credit & A/R Systems.
  • Intermediate analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile) with the ability to identify root causes and trends and anticipate horizon issues
  • Demonstrates considerable knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or similar governance relating to country of operation
  • Displays robust industry research capabilities, including risk and key drivers
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Progressive experience with financial modeling
  • Strong organizational skills with ability and willingness to work under pressure and manages time and priorities effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships.
