The Ministry of Health & Wellness invites applications for the post of:

Chief Medical Officer (CMO)

SALARY: CI$152,340-CI$176,652 PER ANNUM 

The Chief Medical Officer is the Government’s most senior medical advisor, responsible for providing expert advice on a wide range of issues relating to the health of the nation. The CMO is an advocate for public health for the people of the Cayman Islands, and supports the Minister and the Chief Officer in ensuring that a high standard of public health services is provided within the Cayman Islands.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Medical degree (M.D., M.B., and Ch.B.) from an accredited institution
• Advanced degree in Public Health (M.P.H.) or equivalent
• Be a Board-Certified Medical Practitioner registered in the U.K., Canada, U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica or South Africa
• A minimum of 10 years’ professional experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position in healthcare management and public health policy
• highly developed interpersonal, consultation, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• extensive knowledge of clinical workforce planning, clinical governance and performance management processes
• sound knowledge of Health Disaster, Financial and Fiscal Management

The successful candidate will be required to register with the Cayman Islands Medical & Dental Council.

Benefits will be determined in accordance with the Public Service Management Act and Personnel Regulations, the Public Service Pensions Act and the CINICO Health Plan as may be amended from time to time.
