Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain cleanliness and sanitation across multiple facility types, including office spaces, retail stores, distribution center, manufacturing plant, training center and outdoor parking/storage areas. The ideal candidate will ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for employees, customers, and visitors.

Responsibilities

CORE DUTIES:

1. Clean and sanitize Offices, Security Center, Distribution Center, Manufacturing Plant, Training Center, Parking/Storage Areas and Retail Store.

(i) Cleaning and Sanitizing includes, but not limited to, the following:
(a) Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
(b) Dust, wipe down and polish desks, chairs, and office equipment (including telephones)
(c) Vacuum carpets and rugs
(d) Sweep and mop tile/hard floors, including warehouse loading dock
(e) Sweep walkways, entrances, warehouse floor; remove leaves as needed
(f) Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners
(g) Clean windows, glass doors, and interior glass partitions
(h) Remove cobwebs from ceilings, corners, vents, signage, building exterior, entryway and light fixtures
(i) Maintain cleanliness of store sales floors, shelves and checkout areas
(j) Sanitize high-touch surfaces such as counters, door handles, and card readers
(k) Clean display cases, machinery exteriors and shelving units
(l) Remove packaging waste and debris from work areas
(m) Clean employee restrooms, break rooms, and locker areas
(n) Ensure restrooms are stocked with appropriate toiletries (soap, paper towel, toilet paper, etc.), and are odor-free
(o) Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment
(p) Dispose of industrial waste in accordance with safety protocols
(q) Assist with spill containment and cleanup
(r) Pick up litter and debris from parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaped areas
(s) Maintain cleanliness of outdoor seating areas

2. Assist with the organizing of refreshments on the day of inventory/stock count and special meetings

3. Complete daily cleaning checklist 

4. All other duties that may be assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


• High school diploma or equivalent

• 1–2 years of janitorial or custodial experience in a multi-facility environment

• Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed
 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, tools, and safety procedures

• Ability to operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment
 

REQUIRED SKILLS:


• Time management
- Ability to follow a cleaning schedule and prioritize tasks

• Interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers
- Reporting issues clearly and promptly
- Being courteous and professional (including in shared spaces)

• Technical cleaning skills
- Safe use of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Ability to identify and report hazards or maintenance issues
- Proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials or waste

• Attention to detail
- Ensuring thorough sanitation, especially in high-traffic or sensitive areas
- Maintaining consistency and quality in cleaning routines
 

PHYSICAL/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more per shift)

• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to clean low areas and corners

• Ability to climb stairs or ladders to reach high surfaces

• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment, supply boxes)

• Exposure to temperature changes, dust, noise, and cleaning chemicals

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, or safety goggles when required

• Comfortable working in varied environments, including:
- Indoor (offices, retail stores, warehouses, manufacturing floors)
- Outdoor (parking lots, walkways, landscaped areas)

 

WORK SCHEDULE:


Part-time; may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on operational needs (Monday - Saturday)
