We are adding additional Junior Cloud Accountants to our team. We’ve got the stability of an established company and client base with the energy of a startup. About the Job Opportunity:

  1. Work with Accounting Team Members to Support a Group of Clients

    • Your team members will be in Portmore and the United States

    • You will support a group of small businesses located in the United States

    • While productivity is important, we do not expect you to work more than 40 hours per week. A healthy work environment and culture is very important to us.

    • You will work in our Portmore office with an opportunity to work from home on Fridays after your introductory period. Save the time and expense of commuting to Kingston.

  2. Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable

    • Ensures all expenses and associated disbursements are properly coded according to the client’s chart of accounts

    • Produce customer invoices from information provided by clients. 

    • Accurately post customer payments

    • Maintain current and complete documentation of coding policies and procedures for the clients you support

  3. Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations

    • Update bank and credit card transaction ledgers weekly for clients, using electronic bank feeds into QuickBooks to reduce data entry needs

    • Promptly follow up and resolve uncategorized transactions

    • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly

  4. Communicate promptly and professionally

    • Respond to all client requests and internal requests within 1 business day and achieve deadlines on all client Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

    • Express a sense of ownership over resolving open issues, proactively communicating internally with colleagues and externally with clients

  5. Contribute to team productivity

    • Complete assigned weekly and monthly work by deadlines so that we close clients on time each month and meet reporting deadlines

    • Maintain technology expertise with systems we use to support clients

    • Be efficient with your work. Share information that will help others work more efficiently. Offer to help when you have time available.

  6. Develop skills for advancement to Cloud Accountant:

    • Initially master accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank and credit card reconciliations. Then take on more responsibilities around the monthly close and financial reporting.

    • Accrual accounting

    • Monthly close

    • Presenting financial reports to clients

    • Supervising work of other Junior Cloud Accountants

About You:

  • You have a degree in accounting, business, or finance and 1-3 years of accounting work experience.

  • You are looking to learn and grow and advance your career.

  • You are organized and able to manage toward deadlines and effectively communicate and prioritize. Our team members must be comfortable working in a dynamic multi-client environment with competing demands. 

  • Working with multiple clients and different industries will give you plentiful opportunities to advance your knowledge and skills. You have a growth mindset and are eager to take on new challenges.

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Long-term employment, not a contract position

  • Salary based on skills and experience, expected to be in a general range of $1,850,000 - $1,975,000, and open to discussion

  • Health insurance and ancillary benefits

  • Potential for 6-month salary reviews if you advance your skills rapidly in your first 12-24 months

  • Ability to work from home one day per week after initial onboarding
