JOB SUMMARY

The Investment Analyst will provide strong support in the development of asset-backed securitised investment products and is responsible for conducting market and economic research and analysis of trends in financial markets in the domestic and global economy. The Investment Analyst is also responsible for the custody of all relevant legal documents for the Capital Markets Department, including filing and retrieval in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generates ideas and opportunities to support the development of a pipeline for new investment products: Conducts targeted market research and industry analysis. Performs due diligence on securitisation opportunities, including market research and analysis, risk based modelling, asset valuation and legal and regulatory compliance risk assessments. Develops risk and pricing models for proposed investment products, prepares yield curves and verifies sound forecasting simulation exercises and testing. Manages transactions, portfolios and their performance, in accordance with asset management guidelines. Contributes to the preparation of proposals and prospectus, legal documentation and regulatory submissions required for the approval and execution of mortgage-backed securitised investments. Assesses and advises on the Compliance and Regulatory implications of proposed new products and investments securities.
  • Conducts economic, market, and environmental scans and analyses trends: Conducts market research and analysis of economic trends and industry reports. Keeps abreast of the latest industry best practices, trends, regulatory policy changes, business, industry and economic conditions.
  • Supports the management of the company’s assets: Supports the growth of the company’s assets under management.
  • Provides advisory services to customers, clients, and other relevant third parties: Participates in forums related to the industry including conferences, client discussions and organisations. Assists in the development of presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generates, Reviews, and Maintains reports as required: Prepares and maintains reports and dashboards that drive an understanding of the financial performance of existing portfolios. Prepares research content/papers, articles and presentations of economic outlook. Verifies that data sources are complete and accurate through validation processes. Assists in the preparation of regulatory and management reports. Maintains an effective filing system for easy retrieval. Verifies that security related documents are lodged in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Exchanges information with industry professionals and other external stakeholders: Networks and maintains relationships with customers and industry professionals. Shares market, and competitor information with all applicable business partners.
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders to develop and distribute new products and services: Exchanges information with the Risk and Compliance department around the potential risks associated with newly proposed products. Exchanges information with the Treasury department around the company’s investments and financial asset management. Communicates details on investment product and service offerings to staff of the company to facilitate their sale and distribution.
  • Provides advice for opportunities for growth, improvement, and operational efficiency: Supports the continuous improvement for transaction processing and onboarding of clients. Provides a range of technical and analytical support and financial analysis that contributes to overall strategic outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a research financial/investment position.
