Applications are invited from qualified persons for the position of Investment Analyst in our Investments & Portfolio Management Department.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Utilizing research and data modelling techniques to monitor, analyse and assess financial markets in order to make informed investment recommendations to the company;
  • Analysing and interpreting economic projections, market conditions and information on listed and unlisted companies to make informed recommendations for the company’s investment portfolio
  • Reviewing results of listed companies and the composition of the investment portfolios and prepare relevant analyses to support investment recommendations.
  • Ensuring that pricing information is accurately updated on the 4 Series system in a timely manner, thereby ensuring the integrity of portfolio valuations.
  • Preparing quarterly reviews/analysis of assigned portfolios and reporting on the performance of portfolios to internal and external clients.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

 

  1. A first degree in Finance, Economics or any other related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent professional qualifications.
  2. Licensed or qualified to be licensed by the Financial Services Commission.
  3. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a financial institution.
  4. Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or MBA degree would be an advantage.
  5. Working knowledge of investment/portfolio management, equity and fixed income securities analysis.
  6. Working knowledge of quantitative portfolio modelling.
  7. Thorough knowledge of investment products and financial instruments and proficiency in pricing securities and current trends.
  8. Working knowledge of asset/ liability management principles and practices.
  9. Thorough knowledge of 4 Series or other investment management software and fixed income analytical systems, e.g. Bloomberg.
  10. Excellent communication skills
  11. Strong analytical skills
  12. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet tight deadlines
