SMS is looking for a talented INVENTORY OFFICER to join our winning INVENTORY & LOGISTICS DEPARTMENT! Reporting to the Inventory & Logistics Supervisor. The INVENTORY OFFICER roles focus on all inventory
related activities and executing store policy and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and aid in achieving sales objectives.
What you’ll do:
• Document and update purchase orders and receiving records accurately.
• Ensure proper organization and storage of received goods for easy access.
• Process the issuance and fulfillment of orders efficiently.
• Maintain computerized stock records and verify supply invoices against purchase orders for accuracy.
• Identify and manage surplus or obsolete stock to optimize inventory.
• Facilitate the offloading process and arrange goods systematically for easy identification.
• Prepare reports on inventory adjustments for damaged goods and coordinate purchasing and warehousing functions.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
• Prepare inventory for sale, including packaging and labeling, and set prices based on management guidelines.
• Conduct regular reconciliations between physical stock and inventory records in the system.
• Ensure timely and accurate inventory valuation and perform periodic price updates based on inventory movement strategies.
• Provide updated reports including stock availability information from the inventory system to the various departments.
What we’re looking for:
• A certificate in Inventory Control or Records Management would be an asset.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Accounting & Inventory Management Systems
• At least 2 years of experience working in an inventory-related field.
• BSc Degree in Logistics, Supply/Operations Management, or equivalent would be an asset
• MINIMUM 5 CXC'S including Math and English
