The Inventory Manager oversees inventory operations across multiple warehouse locations to ensure optimal stock levels, efficiency, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies across all warehouse sites to maintain accuracy, minimize losses, and optimize stock turnover. This must be done with daily dialog with inventory supervisors, warehouse supervisors, and Plant Managers.
  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse managers and inventory officers to ensure compliance with company inventory standards and internal controls.
  • Monitor inventory data integrity across Great Plains ERP system and conduct regular audits to resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory performance shrinkage metrics (e.g., stock days, shrinkage, forecast accuracy) and report key insights to senior management and accountant.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and manufacturing departments to balance stock availability with operational efficiency.
  • Plan and oversee periodic (Samba- monthly, KPL Bi-annual, Festive -annually) physical stock counts and cycle counts across all locations.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives for warehouse layout optimization, stock handling, and automation adoption.
  • Ensure proper training, evaluation, and support for all warehouse and inventory staff.
  • Establish benchmarks and KPIs for warehouse performance and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.
  • Report all variances to Director and Finance team after all avenues have been exhausted after your investigation.
  • Implement documentation and data entry where necessary to ensure paper trail and accountability
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements in all storage and handling processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, ACCA level 2, Business Accounting degree, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive inventory control, Audit, or warehouse management experience, including multi-site oversight.
  • Proficiency with GREAT PLAINS ERP. Microsoft Excel, Power point, word.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership ability and experience in managing distributed teams.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
