Inventory Controller

The Inventory Controller supports the Financial Controller in the performance of Inventory Management activities in
order to ensure alignment of stocks to achieve accurate information to take business decisions.. In addition this
person shall be responsible for executing monthly cycle counts and identify products with quality deviations and report
same to their supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in the Safety and Food Safety standards of the business, ensuring that all jobs performed are in lineor exceed the company’s standards of Good Warehousing Practices (GWP) or any other guidelines.
  • Audits the Division’s inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management.
  • Coordinate cycle count process in all inventory areas and provide scheduled reporting of inventory data provide ad hoc reporting of inventory data as required.
  • Reviews and prepares inventory control documents.
  • Develop, measure, and drive inventory control methods that promote inventory turns, FEFO, and inventory accuracy.
  • Investigates/reconciles cycle count discrepancies.
  • Manage the cycle counting program by executing timely cycle counting, reconciliations and any necessary resolution to areas of weakness that are identified in order to meet accuracy goals.
  • Coordinates training of warehouse personnel on cycle count procedures.
  • Counsels warehouse supporting role associates with regards to documented inventory discrepancies resulting from count / product inaccuracies / procedure variation
  • Effective inventory management; accurate auditing of products being received from suppliers. Audit products received from the trade to ensure a robust inventory control system for products to be returned to stock and products to be disposed of.
  • Participate in organizing and executing quarterly stock counts.
  • Report on stock discrepancies and assist in implementing systems to minimize inventory losses
  • Assist in the development and implementation of improvements to operational procedures in order to maximize efficiency and reduce operation costs.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports
  • Prepare document for correction to expiry dates, lot numbers and quantities where necessary
  • Identify and report items on the shelves with six months or less shelf life
  • Ensure inventory not stored on racks are always on double pallets
  • Ensures that inventory counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner.
  • Trains other employees in cycle counting and inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory by conducting cycle counts
  • Provide swift, efficient and excellent customer service through the execution of duties by supporting colleagues with inventory queries.
  • Providing timely, accurate and efficient reporting management.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
  • Five [5] years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software and forecasting techniques
  • Or at least five (5) years experience in a senior warehousing and inventory position with formal training in warehouse operations/management.
  • Practical experience in Total Quality Management techniques in Warehousing Operations.
