The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Inventory Auditor by conducting audits, verifying stock accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring inventory records are up to date. This role is key to maintaining efficient inventory management within the hospital

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform routine counts within the various departments.  
  2. Conduct physical inventory counts and cycle counts as scheduled.
  3. Compare actual stock counts to inventory records and report discrepancies.
  4. Assist in investigating inventory variances and help implement corrective actions.
  5. Maintain accurate records of inventory audits and related documentation.
  6. Collaborate with Pharmacy and Main Store teams to verify product movement and storage accuracy.
  7. Support the preparation of audit reports for management review.
  8. Aid in ensuring compliance with internal inventory procedures and policies.
  9. Assist in identifying and reporting inventory shrinkage, overstock, and obsolete stock.
  10. Support the accurate posting of Cost of Sales.
  11. Assist with any other tasks required by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of data entry and basic accounting concepts.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Familiar with audit procedures and internal control systems.
  • Knowledge of stock taking techniques

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
  • Able to multi-task and perform follow-ups on a timely basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • FIA or Level 1 ACCA
  • Prior experience [at least 1 year] in inventory control or audit roles is a plus

OTHER:

  • Must be able to work a shift system, including Saturdays.
