Unicomer (Barbados) Limited is looking for an Assistant Internal Control Manager to champion compliance, strengthen operational integrity and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Unicomer (Barbados) Limited is looking for an Assistant Internal Control Manager to champion compliance, strengthen operational integrity and drive continuous improvement across the business.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Review business processes and spot opportunities to strengthen internal controls and compliance.
  • Develop and roll out improved control procedures that make operations more efficient and secure.
  • Train and guide team members on inventory systems and best practices, promoting continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, AML requirements, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Coordinate stock counts across all locations, investigate discrepancies, and drive accurate reporting.
  • Prepare clear, timely month-end reports and provide insights that support smart decision-making.
  • Monitor inventory variances, identify root causes, and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Oversee annual fixed asset counts to maintain accurate records.
  • Lead and mentor Internal Control Clerks, supporting their growth and assisting with admin tasks when needed.
  • Take on other related duties that help strengthen internal controls and financial integrity.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office and business applications
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented, analytical and able to interpret numerical data and financial information
  • Stock Management and Reconciliation skills, this includes undertaking inventory counts at various locations, guiding count teams and reconciling the results
  • Working knowledge of Accounting, Inventory and Retail processing software
  • Ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across teams

 

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study from an accredited institution
  • At least (3) years' experience in a Finance, Internal/External Audit or Inventory Management environment at a supervisory level
