The job incumbent plays a key role in supporting the internal audit function by ensuring compliance, accuracy and operational efficiency in financial reporting and operational activities.

Job Summary

The Internal Audit Assistant plays a key role in supporting the internal audit function by ensuring compliance, accuracy and operational efficiency in financial reporting and operational activities. The incumbent will assist in conducting audits, gathering and analyzing financial and operational data and evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices and governance processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the execution of audit engagements, including data collection, control testing and compliance reviews.
• Assist in identifying operational inefficiencies and risk areas across departments.
• Draft audit reports and maintain accurate, organized working papers.
• Conduct physical verification of assets like inventory and fixed assets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure audit follow-ups and resolution.
• Provide key administrative support to the audit team for seamless audit delivery.

Requirements

• Completed CAT
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management, Business, Engineering or Natural Sciences.
• Currently pursuing a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, CIMA, CPA, CMA.)
• A minimum of one year experience in auditing.
• Experience in compiling and analyzing data is preferred.
• Knowledge of audit methodology and audit  processes will be an asset.
