Insurance Sales Representative

A growing organization in the insurance sector is seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to identify prospective clients, build strong relationships, and drive the sale of insurance products. This role is heavily field- and outreach-focused, with a primary target audience of security guards. The successful candidate will be confident with cold calling, product pitching, client sign-ups, and weekly reporting, while delivering excellent customer service and meeting sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct cold calls during work hours to secure meetings with potential clients

  • Identify and engage new prospects, with a strong focus on security guards

  • Pitch insurance products clearly and persuasively to potential clients

  • Explain product features and benefits to match client needs

  • Facilitate client sign-ups and ensure application forms are accurately completed

  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships

  • Address client queries and complaints promptly and professionally

  • Follow up on leads to convert prospects into confirmed sales

  • Negotiate terms and respond effectively to objections to close deals

  • Request referrals from satisfied clients to expand the customer base

  • Leverage networking opportunities to generate new sales leads

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records

  • Compile and submit weekly sales and activity reports to the Manager

  • Deliver all completed application forms to the office by Friday afternoon each week

  • Collaborate with the team to share insights and improve sales performance

  • Meet or exceed monthly and weekly sales targets set by management

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Tertiary education in Business, Sales, or a related field would be an asset

  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales within the insurance industry

  • Successful completion of the OLT Examination for Sales

  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings for client sign-ups

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience using CRM systems is an asset
