Information Technology Manager

A financial institution in Mandeville, Jamaica is seeking a highly skilled and strategic IT Manager to lead and manage its information technology function. This role is critical to ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant technology systems that support operational efficiency and an excellent member/customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and service delivery objectives
  • Oversee daily IT operations, infrastructure, and systems to ensure reliability and uptime
  • Manage core banking/processing systems and digital banking platforms
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including data protection, access controls, and incident response
  • Ensure compliance with Bank of Jamaica and other regulatory IT and security standards
  • Manage IT budgets, technology investments, and vendor relationships
  • Lead and execute technology projects, including system upgrades and digital transformation initiatives
  • Supervise, coach, and develop IT staff and oversee helpdesk support
  • Collaborate with senior management on process automation and technology improvements
  • Support audits, regulatory examinations, and risk management activities

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Master’s degree is an asset
  • 5–8 years’ experience in IT management, preferably within a financial institution or credit union
  • Proven experience managing core processing systems and member/customer-facing technologies
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and data protection requirements

Technical and Professional Competencies

  • Strong expertise in network administration, cybersecurity, and data management
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and Microsoft 365 environments
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and project management methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments

Preferred Certifications

  • CompTIA Security+ or Network+
  • CISSP or CISM
  • PMP
  • ITIL Foundation
