The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department while keeping business objectives in mind. He/she will be required to liaise with external vendors and other stakeholders - both internally and externally to ensure smooth IT operations.

Job Summary           

  • The Information Technology Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department while keeping business objectives in mind. He/she will be required to liaise with external vendors and other stakeholders - both internally and externally to ensure smooth IT operations. 
  • The Information Technology Manager will be responsible for the integration of industry best practices, security measures, and updates of all technology and resources.
  • The Information Technology Manager will also lead IT projects, resolve technical issues, or plan for future technology needs and the IT budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:       

  1. Set up hardware, install and configure software and drivers ; monitor and upgrade IT hardware and software for efficiency and security.
  2. Develop and enforce IT policies and best practices for security, software and hardware.
  3. Maintain the efficient operation of network infrastructure.
  4. Develop and maintain the intranet, phone systems and any other VoIP systems utilized by the  Company.
  5. Coordinate the maintenance/repair of technological equipment or peripheral devices.  
  6. Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems and software remain updated.
  7. Ensure the reliability of environments, telecommunication systems, and IT equipment.
  8. Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality.
  9. Effective record keeping of repairs and fixes for future reference.
  10. Train users in specific applications including cybersecurity awareness training to employees.
  11. Assist or coordinate in the writing of programs where necessary.
  12. Resolve user problems – both hardware and software.
  13. Maintain the Harry Rhodes Management System.   
  14. Liaise with consultants as required to ensure the smooth operation of all software used in the company’s operations.
  15. Manage vendor contracts and ensure seamless integration of third-party IT solutions.
  16. Develop budget and planned execution of upgrades of all hardware devices and equipment
  17. Implement IT security policies, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems and ensure all cyber security threats are adequately managed
  18. Conduct security audits and investigations for compliance and risk mitigation.
  19. Ensure data backup procedures are adequately managed and to coordinate recovery procedures in case of any system failures. 
  20. Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) planning and testing.
  21. Align IT initiatives with business needs, optimizing technology investments.
  22. Stay updated on the best industry compliance frameworks and laws. 
  23. Perform any other related duties requested by Management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree in information systems or business administration is preferred.
  • Recognized IT certifications eg. credentials such as CIW, CompTIA Security+, PMP etc. are a plus.
  • 6-8 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record in IT project management and change management
  • Experience managing IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Strong background in IT infrastructure, security, and risk management
