In-House Customs Broker
We are seeking a highly detailed and experienced In-House Customs Broker to join our Logistics team. This critical role is responsible for managing all customs clearance activities for pharmaceutical and food product imports, ensuring full compliance with the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) and international trade regulations.
Act as the licensed Customs Broker, preparing and lodging accurate C78 entries and managing electronic filings via the JCA system.
Liaise with the Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW), Bureau of Standards (BSJ), and Port Health to secure necessary permits and certificates before vessel arrival.
Manage the end-to-end clearance process to minimize delays, reduce demurrage/detention costs, and ensure goods move swiftly through ports of entry.
Maintain the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status by ensuring strict adherence to security and record-keeping standards.
Collaborate with Procurement and Finance to provide guidance on duty impacts, tariff classifications, and import eligibility for new products.
Must be a Licensed Customs Broker recognized by the Jamaica Customs Agency.
Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management is preferred.
3–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, specifically with pharmaceuticals, food, or FMCG distribution.
Strong knowledge of Jamaica Customs laws, proficiency in clearance systems, and excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
