IT Technician supporting Immigration kiosks at ports of entry in Guyana such as Cheddi Jagan International Airport and Ogle International Airport

JOB PROFILE: IT Technician supporting Immigration kiosks at ports of entry in Guyana such as Cheddi Jagan International Airport and Ogle International Airport

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures service calls are completed efficiently which includes following-up on machines
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
• Sets-up and demonstrates new equipment when required.
• Accurately completes service tickets
• Maintain the software applications and programs installed on the systems and office equipment
• Create and maintain documentation for all IT systems, processes, procedures and perform regular systems tests to validate system integrity
• Research, evaluate and recommend system technologies to support business requirements
• Document network problems and resolution for future reference
• Performing any other IT related duties during working.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

• A minimum five (5) CXC / GCE O’ Level passes including Mathematics & English
• A minimum of two (2) years technical field experience
• Computer Literate / proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
• Ability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies quickly
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and exercise commensurate levels of initiative and judgement
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to excel under pressure
