IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Job Summary 

We are seeking a reliable and knowledgeable IT Support Specialist to ensure smooth operation of our technology systems. This role involves maintaining hardware and software, managing network and server infrastructure, and ensuring system security. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with strong technical expertise, must be well versed in networking and cabling and must reside in or near Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day assistance for staff on computers, applications and systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network issues timely
• Maintain servers, networks, internet connectivity, email systems, and cloud platforms to ensure smooth and secure operations
• Install, configure and support business software, including retail/hospitality systems
• Coordinate with external vendors when needed
• Oversee company computers, printers, phones and other devices, ensuring they are updated, functional and secure
• Implement back-up systems, manage recovery process and enforce cybersecurity policies to protect company data.
• Train employees on IT best practices and recommend improvements where needed

Requirements & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in IT support, network/server administration and system management
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems, networking, server and cloud management.
• Associate Degree/HEART Certification
• MUST live in or around Ocho Rios, St Ann
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Comfortable with physically demanding tasks including running network cables, handling equipments etc.
