. The incumbent will promote and encourage, through example, the pursuit of the Integrated Portfolio (IRP) IT department’s vision, mission statement and mottos, through active knowledge sharing and collaboration with all stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide technical support and expertise, testing of applications, responding to user feedback, installations, maintenance, automation of reports and demonstrations in accordance with the IRP IT Departments’ operating models. 
• Assess user requirements and problems and design or re-design effective applications while making recommendations to satisfy needs and develop solutions.
• Assist in ensuring all business application systems are developed, tested, maintained and supported to achieve the efficient and effective delivery of services and information.
• Ensure useful and understandable knowledge-based articles (KBs) are created and reviewed. 
• Keep abreast of new developments in any existing applications, while seeking potential new applications to support the business.
• As assigned, oversee or lead the development and design of applications and implementation of new or existing programs. 
• Perform customer and problem analysis to create applications that respond to customer needs and provide innovative solutions to common problems. 
• Perform prototyping, application testing and code reviews to ensure product is satisfactory.
• Improve existing software by creating new developments/upgrades, perform debugging, testing, code improvement and re-designing tasks. 
• Work with customer service and quality analysis teams to optimize products and ensure products stay up-to-date and continue to satisfy customer needs.
• Generate ideas for software products that innovate and fill gaps in the current market.
• As assigned, provide technical support from application start-up through the warranty period and provide employees with ongoing technical support. Support includes responding to customer issues and providing innovative solutions for users. 
• As assigned, develop and maintain interfaces, exports and imports, and ensure their smooth running where required.
• As assigned, prepare documentation of new processes, automated reports and any other software that are under the purview of the Digital and Business Solutions team.
• As assigned, analyze data from various systems and produce technical and business reports for consumption. 
• Proactively manage data integrity in all systems.
• Ensure that the principles of good Information Security (Confidentiality and Integrity of data and information, and Availability of systems and services as needed) are upheld and maintained.
• As assigned, develop and provide user training and training materials and/or arrange third party training to stakeholders as needed. 
• As assigned, define, develop and provide an application problem analysis and resolution service for complex application problems in conjunction with the users and application suppliers. 
• Demonstrate sound judgment and creativity in providing workarounds to systems’ issues that cannot be resolved on first contact, while researching long-term solutions that will resolve the core issue. 
• Contribute to the business’s overall initiative to continually improve its image internally and externally. 
• Display professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Integrated Retail Portfolio as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.
• Provide On-call support as required to supported Massy Distribution and Massy Stores locations outside of normal office opening hours, which includes weekends, holidays and after office hours (weekdays).
• Encourage and actively collaborate with all members of the various IRP IT departments throughout the region.
• Execute all responsibilities and accountabilities in accordance with the IRP Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE), Human Resources and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) procedures, policies and practices.
• Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art tools, techniques, and computing equipment improvements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.  Adhere to Service Level Agreements and KPIs of the overall IT department  Maintain confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
• Accept and undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in the Computer Science field is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge in various Database Management Systems. E.g. Microsoft SQL Server, ORACLE, MYSQL and PostgreSQL. 
• In-depth knowledge in Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Testing, Data Warehousing and Relational Structures.
• Proficient in C, C#, Java, VB, HTML, Java Script, SQL, TSQL, PSQL, ASP.NET, Crystal Reports or any other language which can accomplish the task at hand
• In-depth knowledge various Object-Oriented Design Patterns.
• Familiarity with using data visualization tools such as PowerBi, SQL Server Reporting Services, Amazon Quick sight, Tableau
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite E.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio etc.
• At least 2 years prior working experience in a similar role.
• Working experience in Retail and Distribution Business environment would be an asset.
