About this position

We are looking for a consultant for the IDB Lab team to contribute to the development of digital solutions for business intelligence and operational excellence, ensuring the quality, integrity and accuracy of client data across all IDB Lab platforms (e.g. Salesforce, SAP, Drupal). The consultant is also responsible for supporting IDB Lab´s sourcing model called IDEATE and for coordinating weekly sessions to analyze the most impactful business opportunities at the intersection of venture capital and social impact in Latin America and the Caribbean in compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines.

IDB Lab is the innovation laboratory of the IDB Group. It conducts high-risk experiments to test new business models and technologies for engaging and inspiring the private sector to solve economic and social development problems in Latin America and the Caribbean. IDB Lab addresses poverty and vulnerability by focusing on innovative impactful solutions with the capacity to make significant impact on social inclusion and environmental sustainability. IDB Lab’s front office (LAB) is responsible for overall operational and administrative support to IDB Lab’s CEO which includes the coordination of digital transformation and the enhancement of operational excellence and client experience.

What you’ll do

•    Contributing to the digitalization development group (Digitribe) by participating in the monthly prioritization meetings, and in the development of digital solutions for business intelligence and operational excellence.
•    Contributing to the ClientX initiative, aimed to elevate IDB Lab’s clients’ experience through user centered design, gathering and analyzing client feedback, prototyping and iteratively enhancing digital offerings to meet client needs.
•    Overseeing quality, completeness and accuracy of client’s data in IDB Lab’s platforms including Salesforce, SAP, Drupal, PowerBi, among others.
•    Producing data analytics and visualization to streamline IDB Lab operational workflow, including IDB Lab´s sourcing model and for pipeline/portfolio reporting (i.e. Weekly Reports to Secretary, Monthly reports to Presidency, Quarterly Reports to the Donors Committee and other reporting for the IDB Group counterparts in coordination/supporting with the Digital Transformation Lead, Portfolio Managers in the Discovery Unit and Investment Unit).
•    Supporting the management of IDB Lab’s project eligibility process “IDEATE” which aims to analyze the readiness of IDB Lab project proposals and their alignment to the IDB Lab’s mandate with the Principal Advisor. This includes (i) scheduling a weekly IDEATE session and inviting jury members and relevant regional managers/country representatives, (ii) sharing project proposals in advance for discussion in a weekly IDEATE session, (iii) preparing minutes of the discussions for each project proposal for the review and concurrence of jury members, (iv) sending minutes of the discussions for notifying conclusions to relevant regional managers /country representatives and each project team about the conclusion on eligibility; and, (v) securing the publication of eligible project information.
•    Supporting to verify the reflection of comments and/or suggestions made in IDEATE during the QRR process with the Principal Advisor.
•    Maintaining all IDEATE templates and resources updated in Basecamp; IDB Lab´s document repository on the corporate Microsoft SharePoint. Keeping ¨IDEATE Guidelines¨, ¨Sourcing Campaigns Guidelines¨ and IDEATE Salesforce CRM Platform updated promoting the digitalization of IDEATE process in a timely manner.

What you'll need

•    Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent program, in areas related to business administration, Economics, data management, or computer science, in an accredited university.
•    Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience
•    Languages: Proficient in English, Spanish. French or Portuguese would be an advantage.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in the country for post of duty.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Inve
st, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration

Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time or Local Remote Consultant
Length of contract: 12 months.
Work Location: If hired with international affinity, the consultant will be based at the Headquarters in Washington, DC. If hired with national affinity, the consultant will work 100% remotely from their place of residence, provided the Bank has country offices there.
