ICT Security Officer
The ICT Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the institution’s information assets, including hardware, software, networks, systems, and data, from cyber threats, unauthorized access, and malicious activity. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the university’s ICT infrastructure to continuously monitor the security environment, proactively identify and assess vulnerabilities, and mitigate risks that could compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional systems and information. The ICT Security Officer also supports the implementation and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and controls aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, while contributing to incident detection and response, vulnerability management, security awareness, and the continuous strengthening of the institution’s overall cybersecurity posture.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- have a minimum of two (2) years in a similar capacity
- Sound knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
- Sound knowledge of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
- Working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus.
- Specialised training in ISACA’s Certified Information Security Manager (CISM),
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH),
- CompTIA Security+, or GIAC certifications,
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) Certification would be an asset
Salary range: Band 8 - $ 4,266,270.00 p.a. - $ 5,737,659.00 p.a.
