ICT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

To provide core high-volume systems and network infrastructure and facilitate quality design solutions

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Ethernet 10/100/1000 components, Windows Server 20xx, AIX and Red Hat Linux Enterprise and Advanced Server; and including other software applications (May involve lifting of heavy equipment)
• Install printers, peripheral devices, protocols and applications on both Linux and Windows environments
• Assist with administration of servers, network, backup and monitoring systems
• Manage equipment maintenance (routine cleaning, service checks, software updates) and complete periodic checklists; requests hardware as necessary
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair ICT problems: hardware, software, security and telecommunications
• Maintain and upkeep Operating Systems with latest patches and known repair tools
• Document, track and monitor all system problems in a timely resolution
• Assist in maintaining information security, emergency fail over procedures and disaster recovery plans
• Assess current performance and future utilization to determine systems and communications needs and to make recommendations.
• Define, implement and monitor the systems and communications configuration to assure integrity and security.
• Install, test, back up and provide technical assistance of software and hardware of all servers and network equipment
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management to improve the administration of the ICT infrastructure

General Qualifications and Experience Education

• Five (5) GCE or CXC O’ Levels including Maths and English
• BSc or BA in Computer Science or related discipline Experience
• At least four (4) years of systems network experience 

Or any equivalent combination of qualifications and experience

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of Redhat Linux ES/AS, AIX & Windows Server 20XX is an asset
• Skills with high availability systems, scientific servers, security arrangements, communications and networks, and monitoring and interpreting of logs to implement systems, monitor security and resolve problems essential
• Familiarity with, and ability to coordinate and manage ICT infrastructure items such as UPS and related power, cooling systems, rack and cabling management systems
