Job Summary:
The Human Resources Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the HR function within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for facilitating efficient HR operations including recruitment, training, industrial relations, performance management, employee welfare, and compliance with safety and labor regulations. The HRO will work closely with plant managers, supervisors, and employees on the shop floor to ensure HR processes support a productive, safe, and legally compliant workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Development
- Conduct training needs analysis for factory and administrative staff.
- Coordinate technical, safety, and soft-skill training.
- Maintain the training matrix and evaluate training outcomes.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage recruitment for both factory and office roles including interviews, reference checks, and employment offers.
- Conduct new hire orientation tailored to manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
Employee Records & HR Systems
- Maintain up-to-date personnel files, digital records, and organizational charts in line with company SOPs.
Industrial Relations & Compliance
- Coordinate disciplinary hearings, grievance meetings
- Ensure compliance with labor laws
Performance Management
- Administer the Performance Management System, guide supervisors on conducting appraisals, and track performance metrics.
Compensation & Benefits
- Support payroll-related reporting and assist in implementing bonus, merit, and incentive programs.
- Administer employee benefits including medical, pension, leave, and uniform distribution.
Health, Safety & Medical Surveillance
- Coordinate health screenings and medical surveillance to ensure employees are fit for duty.
- Support occupational health compliance and accident management.
Employee Engagement & Welfare
- Promote the company’s Recognition and Reward Program and organize staff events such as the End of Year function.
- Support employee assistance initiatives and administer satisfaction surveys.
Job Evaluation & Description
- Assist with job analysis and collaborate with department heads to develop accurate job descriptions and role specifications.
Policy Development & Communication
- Research and help develop HR policies.
- Contribute to the internal newsletter and other employee communication platforms
HR Strategy & Budgeting
- Assist in preparing the HR Department’s strategic plan and operational budget with an eye on cost reduction and efficiency.
Process Improvement
- Continuously review and improve HR processes to better support manufacturing operations.
General Administration
- Draft HR reports, correspondence, and documentation.
- Perform all duties in line with company Health, Safety, and Quality standards.
Degree/Diploma and major if applicable:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a human resources role.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and industrial relations.
- Experience in HRIS systems and performance management tools is an asset.
- Experience in Manufacturing environment will be considered an asset
