The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides administrative and office support for day-to-day HR activities and performs a wide range of administrative duties.

We’re seeking a hands-on HR Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the human resources function within our organisation.

Role Overview:


The Human Resources Administrative Assistant provides administrative and office support for day-to-day HR activities and performs a wide range of administrative duties including maintaining employee records, scheduling/coordinating interviews and meetings and supporting recruitment and onboarding activities.


Main Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a first point of contact to receive and assist visitors, answer and direct telephone calls within the department as needed.
  • Respond in a timely manner to internal and external HR department inquiries and prepare and distribute HR communication and correspondence.
  • Assist with maintaining up-to-date confidential files and employee records.
  • Utilise and assist with maintaining the HR Information system/Applicant Tracking System (e.g. BambooHR) and HR Portal.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Manage logistics and assist with planning, coordinating and implementation of employee activities and events.
  • Order and maintain a minimum inventory of office supplies for the HR department.
  • Assist with storage, inventory and distribution of uniforms.
  • Assist with compiling/preparing HR reports for distribution including those required by government agencies.
  • Assist with benefits administration and administrative support for payroll processing as needed.

  • Proficient in use of computer technology.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment and to pivot quickly, responding with flexibility to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written communication skills required with the ability to work well in a multi-generational work environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects, including English.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management at Associate Degree Level or higher will be considered an asset.
  • Proficient in use of computer technology, Microsoft Office and HR-related software.
  • Up to date working knowledge of relevant Barbados Employment Legislation and local HR customs and practice would be an asset.
