To provide the full suite of HR operational services to the line, with specific responsibility for all positions up to and including junior management

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
•Serving as the first point of contact, assists in managing and resolving employee relations and discipline issues to support compliance with local laws and collective agreement
•Assists with implementing the talent management strategy including the recruitment, selection, and appointment of talent in vacant positions for appropriate levels, with the aim of attaining quality of hire benchmarks
•Ensures compliance with the Company’s performance management system so that talent is properly assessed and managed through the use of clear objectives, feedback and improvement mechanisms to maximize business results.
•Administers and coordinates key staff benefits and incentives so that staff, at the appropriate levels, are properly remunerated in a timely fashion and ensuring policy compliance
•Compiles monthly year-end reports on key HR metrics (e.g. headcount, cost per employee and attrition) that support analysis and business decisions
•Develops support staff to ensure that department goals are met
•Completes all other duties as assigned by the management line

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resource Management
•At least 3 years’ HR leadership experience in a unionized environment
•Experience of advising managers on a range of people matters (e.g. discipline, grievance, performance management, sickness, absence, recruitment, etc.)
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Communication Proficiency
•Knowledge of Labour Laws
•Strong Time Management and Priorities Management Skills
•Ability to establish effective relationships
•Ability to think for yourself and implement best practice in the absence of a policy or procedure
•Ability to develop a good understanding of business issues and how to identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs
•Energy and drive
•Flexibility in working hours to meet demands of the role
•Willingness to undertake business travel to other sites on a frequent basis
