Human Resource Officer

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an efficient and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer to join its team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a compliant, efficient, and people-centered workplace through effective HR policies, employee relations, and training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce company and HR policies, as well as the disciplinary code, among all staff.

  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures as needed.

  • Screen, recruit, and coordinate the orientation and onboarding of new employees.

  • Deliver HR-related training to employees and supervisory teams, including topics such as HR compliance and performance reviews.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, punctuality, and leave.

  • Address workplace concerns, mediate conflicts, and support employee relations.

  • Conduct disciplinary hearings, suspensions, and terminations in accordance with company policy and Jamaican labour laws.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and labour regulations, particularly those relevant to food manufacturing operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related field.

  • Proven experience in an HR Officer or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Jamaican labour laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
