The incumbent will be required to focus on HR systems, policies, procedures, and compliance. This position entails the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR processes and systems that align with organizational goals and support a positive workforce environment.

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Officer will be a critical member of the HRM team.  

Key Responsibilities:

 1. Policy Development and Implementation

  • Work with Management Team to develop, review, HR policies and procedures to establish best practices and maintain operational consistency.
  • Ensure that all HR policies are well-documented, accessible, and communicated to all employees.
  • Oversee implementation of HR policies and procedures and ensure maintenance operational consistency.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures, recommending adjustments as necessary.

 2. HR Systems Management:

  • Oversee the administration and optimization of HR information systems (HRIS) to ensure accurate and timely data management.
  • Participate in system upgrades, implementations, or integrations, including testing and user training.
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports to identify trends and inform strategic decisions.

 3. Compliance Oversight:

  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices, processes, and records to ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

 4. Training and Support:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees and management on HR policies, compliance issues, and effective use of HR systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees regarding HR processes and systems; serve as the primary point of contact for HR inquiries.

 5. Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Ensure maintenance of  accurate and confidential employee records and documentation,
  • Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

 6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements within the HR function.
  • Evaluate industry best practices and emerging trends in HR systems and compliance, adapting recommendations to fit organizational needs.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD, Industrial Relations) is a plus.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in human resources with a focus on HR systems, compliance, and policy development.
  • Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, labour regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 Desired Competencies:

  • Attention to detail and high-level accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

 Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based.  Will be required to visit other company locations.
  • May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines or system upgrades.
