ur client in the Port of Spain area is seeking a Human Resource Intern

Location: Port of Spain
Employment Type: Internship (6 months)
Working Conditions: Monday to Friday. 

Our client in the Port of Spain area is seeking a Human Resource Intern to support ongoing HR initiatives, system implementation, and communications-related activities.The ideal candidate should be data-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable using Excel for basic data tasks and reporting.

Human Resource Intern Scope

Key Responsibilities

HRIS Implementation

  • Attend HRIS implementation meetings to understand system processes and requirements

  • Coordinate with HR team members to compile and submit required information for system configuration

  • Assist in preparing and submitting files to the Workday project team

  • Participate in system testing to ensure alignment with company requirements

Communications & External Relations

  • Assist with the visual layout and design of company brochures

  • Organize and format text, images, and graphics while ensuring brand consistency

  • Coordinate with employees to gather content (photos, text, technical information)

  • Draft and revise communications and promotional materials based on feedback

  • Liaise with local vendors for print and digital materials

  • Assist in the preparation of materials for the Energy Conference and Business Week

General Support & Coordination

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for:

    • Energy Conference

    • Business Week

    • Town Halls

    • Engagement Run

    • Job Fairs

  • Provide weekly status updates and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks

Required Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR or Marketing (Communications specialization preferred)

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel data handling

  • Data-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail

  • Experience in communications, marketing, or systems implementation is an asset

  • Strong organizational skills; process-oriented and detail-focused

  • Tech-savvy, creative, and comfortable using software tools

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Experience with Workday or similar HR systems is an asset
