To provide strategic HR generalist support that is aligned with Department and Company strategic goals as well as implement and drive key Human Capital Initiatives/Projects. Also contributes to strategy development and engages in Human Capital business partnering with key stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Contribute to the development of the HR Strategic Plan and Budget, monitor activity, spend and key HR metrics (e.g. headcount, cost per employee and attrition) that support analysis and business decisions.
•HR Business Partnering: Providing HR advice, policy interpretation and training on all people issues and handles all Industrial Relations and Workmen’s Compensation matters; ensuring compliance with local laws and collective agreements so that the company’s Employee Relations climate remains stable.
•Manage the manpower planning and implement an overall talent management strategy for the recruitment, selection, and appointment of talent in vacant positions, with the aim of attaining quality of hire benchmarks.
•Enforces the company’s performance management system so that talent is properly assessed and managed, through the use of clear objectives, feedback, and the improvement mechanisms to maximize business results.
•Support Change Management initiatives to influence behavioural change and achieve desired business culture.
•Assists in administering job evaluation, review compensation and benefits to ensure internal and market alignment; make recommendations to ensure equity.
•Manages the performance of direct reports to ensure that departmental goals are met.
•All other relevant duties assigned by the management line.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management or Business Administration.
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
•At least 4 years’ HR leadership experience in a unionized environment
•Proven track record in successfully dealing with complex employee relations issues.
•Proven ability to develop a good understanding of business issues and how to identify and deliver HR interventions and solutions to meet business needs.
•Strong problem analysis and conflict management skills.
