Assist in the development of activities that support programs and initiatives in Human Resources.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two (2) years of university-based studies in Business Administration, Human Resources or similar area.  Degree preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Excellent math skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keeps updated information for employee benefits administration.
  • Provides support in the development of the various initiatives carried out by Human Resources.
  • Supports the recruitment process and organizes the database of candidates. 
  • Maintains updated employee files.
  • Assists with the On-Line Compliance Training.
  • Coordinates interviews.
  • Follow up and maintain a register of employee disabilities, absences, lateness, etc.
  • Organize New Hire Orientation logistics.
  • Organizes Staff Meetings.
  • Prepares and Reviews department reports as required.
  • Supports Employee Relations initiatives.
  • Supports payroll data gathering.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Understanding of recruitment and onboarding procedures
  • Familiarity with employee file management
  • Awareness of labour laws 
  • Handling sensitive employee information discreetly
  • Maintaining secure and accurate personnel records
  • Filing and document management (physical)
  • Coordinating interviews and meetings
  • Managing HR calendars and reminders
  • Professional email and written communication
  • Effective verbal communication with employees and management
  • Taking accurate meeting minutes
  • Screening resumes
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Preparing offer letters and employment contracts
  • Coordinating onboarding documentation
  • HRIS or ERP systems (e.g., Workday or similar)
  • Managing multiple employee requests
  • Handling urgent HR matters promptly
  • Proactively following up on outstanding items
  • Escalating HR issues appropriatel
