Heavy T Driver

Delivery of goods to all Business Units throughout T&T. Includes loading/Off Loading of trucks, performing basic maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure that vehicles are in safe driving condition. Obey all driving/traffic regulations; report any issues that arise promptly to Management.

          DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                                                          

• Prepare truck for operations by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accurate of shipping papers;
• Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost effective  performance with preventive maintenance in mind;
• Deliver goods via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and store needs;
• Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received;
• Document all deliveries accurately according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company;
• Safely operate warehouse equipment as required;
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations; Observing all rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines as outlined by the Company with respect to deliveries and other operational issues;
• Maintaining safe driving practices at all times observing the traffic laws as outlined by the government of Trinidad and
• Adhering to company policies and procedures with regards to uniformity, attendance, punctuality, and customer service;
• Any other related duties as required.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS& Skills

• Must be able to read, comprehend and write legibly
• Must possess a valid Heavy T License
• Police Certificate of good character (or proof of being in the process of obtaining one
• Must be customer service oriented;
• Must be pleasant and articulate;
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Must have physical fitness and endurance and be mentally alert and in good health.
