The Head of HR (People Organization) oversees recruitment, manages talent development and performance metrics, upholds company policies, and defines objectives for our local HR team. This role is pivotal in shaping our employer brand and driving a high-performing people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion and implement company policies that foster a healthy, inclusive, and high-performing work environment while enhancing the employee experience at all levels.
  • Lead the implementation and management of the Human Capital and Talent strategy within Jamaica, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Design and execute structured career development pathways that empower employees to grow and reach their full potential.
  • Monitor and analyze key HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, cost-per-hire, absenteeism) and present actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in developing and managing the HR department’s annual budget to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Oversee and navigate the country’s Industrial Relations portfolio, maintaining strong partnerships with employee representatives and ensuring compliance with labour laws.
  • Maintain and continuously improve HR procedures in alignment with local labour regulations and global best practices.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • BSc. in Human Resources, Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or a related field
  • MSc. in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Leadership or a related field.
  • SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable
  • 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience within retail, distribution, or operations environments, with a proven ability to lead comprehensive HR functions at a senior level.
  • Strong expertise in Human Capital Management systems, data-driven HR practices, and the development of high-performing HR teams
  • In-depth knowledge of Jamaica’s Labour Laws and Industrial Relations best practices, ensuring compliance while promoting positive employee relations and a high-performance culture.
