Job Description
The Head- Export Development, Promotion & Market Access develops, leads and oversees execution of strategies to address the key market access barriers and regulatory issues, with the aim of improving market access for Trinidad and Tobago businesses. The position monitors the policy environment and advises on matters of trade policy, international trade and market access. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining good business relations with business associations and regional and international trade bodies in order to drive export promotion strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Sciences or related field from a recognised University
A Masters’s degree would be an asset
Certification in international trade from a recognised institution
7-8 years’ experience in implementing and managing export business development programs or related scope of work
Extensive/Expert knowledge of export markets, trading practices and trade agreements between Trinidad and Tobago and international trading partners
Specialist knowledge in international trade and trade finance
Develop and lead export development and promotion strategies
Identify export opportunities and market access barriers with a view to increasing global competitiveness
Drive export development & promotion across sectors and regions
Develop capacity and readiness to pursue growth markets
Lead and direct export accelerator programs and training
Lead and direct trade facilitation and client services
Plan, organise, direct and control the activities of the Division
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Report on performance of strategy and strategic initiatives
Provide guidance and participate in performance management, coaching and development, and disciplinary proceedings
