Handyman

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers daily.
2. Performs general maintenance on false ceiling and flooring of the buildings.
3. Upkeep the garden areas.
4. Upkeep the external and internal paint of the building.
5. Upkeep internal and external drainage system.
6. Maintains general restocking of bulk items for hospital or any other department when required.
7. Assists with basic plumbing, electrical and janitorial duties as required.
8. Disposes of biomedical and household waste according to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
9. Provides general assistance to contractors or service providers at SMC when required.
10. Performs any other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

KNOWLEDGE:

• School Leaving Certificate
• Valid Drivers Permit

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must be customer service oriented.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to think creatively and to demonstrate flexibility.
• Ability to work effectively under stress.
• Ability to use initiative and pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to demonstrate integrity and maintain confidentiality
• Basic electrical, plumbing

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a related position desirable but not essential.
• Basic First Aid Training

OTHER:

• Must be able to work a shift system, weekends and public holidays.
• Police Certificate of Good Character
• Resides within a 10-mile radius of San Fernando
