Job Summary

The Human Resource Officer is responsible for carrying out core HR generalist duties, with a primary focus on the full recruitment lifecycle. This includes sourcing and attracting candidates, managing the interview process, facilitating the hiring of qualified employees, and ensuring the department operates efficiently and in compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to offer. This involves developing and implementing multi-channel sourcing strategies to build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline.
  • Conduct thorough candidate screenings and interviews, assessing skills, experience, and culture.
  • Collaborate effectively with hiring managers to provide recruitment guidance and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and reports, stay updated on recruitment trends, and participate in recruitment events.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment policy.
  • Function as a generalist HR officer, supporting key areas such as employee relations, performance management processes, staff onboarding, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure all HR and recruitment activities are compliant with Jamaican recruitment best practices and employment laws.

Requirements

  • Proven recruitment experience (service-oriented sector preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Jamaican recruitment best practices and employment laws.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, recruitment software, and online sourcing platforms.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong ownership of tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Management Studies or related field (preferred).
