The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for leave administration and record management for all categories of staff as well as management/maintenance of the attendance database for all staff.

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for leave administration and record management for all categories of staff as well as management/maintenance of the attendance database for all staff.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resource Assistant is responsible for compiling, updating and imputing employee personal data including vacation leave and sick leave data on HRM System, as well as recording the movement of employees by location on the system and administration of attendance and punctuality records.

  • Coordinate, monitor and supervise the activities/performance of the Receptionist, and Record Clerk.
  • Coordinate and administer the processing of leave applications.
  • Monitors workforce attendance and punctuality and provide timely reports in this regards.  
  • Organizes, manage, monitor and supervise the record management system to ensure accuracy, currency, relevancy and accessibility of employees’ data. 
  • Manages direct reports to ensure adequate standard of work and professionalism.
  • Manages the welfare and development of direct reports through the preparation of performance appraisals and recommendation of required training and development programs.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff through effective objective setting, delegation, effective communication, coaching, mentoring, training, and providing assistance and support as needed.
  • Ensures that staff is aware of, and adhere to the policies, procedures and regulations of the Department and MMS.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management or related discipline.
  • Two (2) years related working experience.
  • Formal training in Leave Administration and/or Records Management.
